Meet the Class of 2015

The Class of 2015 is an impressive bunch. This semester, we welcomed 379 first years and 39 transfers, who've come to Bronxville from far-flung places across the country and globe. These first-years represent 38 states (in addition to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) and 24 countries, including India, China, Great Britain, and France. This year's international population is the largest ever, comprising 14% of the entire class. Between all first-years, they speak more than 30 languages. In other exceptional news, the percentage of admitted students who ended up enrolling is 31%, the highest it's been since 2005—and an increase of 3% from last year. Their academic standing continues to be solid; the median GPA of first-years is 3.6 on a 4.0 scale.

The class continues a trend of growing diversity within the student body. Since 2008, the male student population has been on the rise, with a total increase of 12.5%. This year, there are 101 men on campus, bringing the current campus-wide ratio of female: male students to 71%:29%. Twenty-eight percent of first-years self-identify as students of color. Of the transfer students, they come from other four-year colleges, as well as community colleges.

• 22 first-years have alumni or faculty/staff connections
• 51% are from public schools
• 43% from independent schools
• 4% from parochial schools
• 2% have been homeschooled
