Policies for Fire Safety Education and Training Programs for members of the College Community

• Each year SLC’s Fire Safety Director conducts a power point fire safety orientation session for all incoming freshman
• Each year SLC’s Fire Safety Director conducts a fire safety class for all resident advisors
• Resident Advisors speak to their advisees about fire safety procedures/policies
• Each year SLC’s Fire Safety Director conducts a fire safety class for all security officers
• Fire Safety rules, policies and procedures are published in college handbooks
• Fire drills are utilized as teaching tools
• Over time the college plans to add sprinkler systems to more of its residence halls as an improvement to fire safety
