Weapons Policy

Sarah Lawrence College is committed to providing a safe and secure learning and working environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors on its campus. The use, possession and storage of any weapons of any kind (firearms, ammunition, air guns, knives, bows and arrows, replicas of such, etc), including those defined in Sections 265.01(3) and 265.06 of the New York Penal Code is strictly prohibited on campus. Exceptions, for educational purposes only, must be made in advance via written approval by the Director of Public Safety. Violations will be subject to disciplinary action and may be subject to arrest in accordance with the New York State Penal Code.
