Employment of Relatives
Sarah Lawrence College does not discriminate on the basis of marital status or family relationship. Applications for employment from spouses, domestic partners or close relatives of employees will be considered on the basis of professional criteria and qualifications for specific positions. The employment of those in such relationships in the same department is permitted provided that neither employee participates in making recommendations or decisions specifically affecting the appointment, retention, tenure, promotion, demotion, leave of absence or salary of the other. In any area where a conflict of interest may develop, the responsibility for the decision will pass to the next higher administrative level.
