    We remember the following faculty and staff members who were vital members of the Sarah Lawrence community:

    Regina Arnold, who came to SLC in 1979, served as a sociology faculty member and associate dean of studies until her death on February 16, 2006. More about Regina Arnold.

    Harriet Brown served the College administration from 1968 to 1987, as secretary of the alumnae/i office, secretary to the alumnae/i director and secretary in the president's office, among other positions. She died on September 2, 2005.

    Peter F. Drucker, who taught economics from 1940 to 1942, died on November 11, 2005.

    Mary E. Hotte, the assistant community organizer for the Institute of Community Studies in 1968-69, died on January 23, 2006.

    William RubinWilliam Rubin, who taught art history at the College from 1952 to 1967 and served as a trustee from 1979 to 1986, died at home in northern Westchester County on January 22, 2006. A private collector as well as a scholar, he had a long curatorial career at the Museum of Modern Art after leaving Sarah Lawrence, rising eventually to direct MOMA's celebrated and powerful department of painting and sculpture. At Sarah Lawrence, he helped establish the discipline of art history as integral to the College's curriculum. Sarah Lawrence awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2000.

    Priscilla Terraforte, the College's telephone operator from 1982 to 1994, died on February 7, 2006.
