Intensive Program in Theater
Students wishing to specialize intensively in theater may apply to study at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. The Lecoq technique, a form of physical theater, applies the traditions of mime and dramatic choreography to acting. Teaching is based on the dynamics of movement, involving the body as the primary element of recognition of the living being.
Core faculty specializing in movement and improvisation are supplemented by guest instructors from the Parisian theatrical community.
The intensive program carries eight credits per semester. Students in intensive programs also take one SLC seminar of their choice and a required French language course (see Sample Intensive Programs).
The Lecoq Program is a full year program.
