    Garth Risk Hallberg: BA, Washington University in St. Louis. MFA, New York University. Author of the novella A Field Guide to the North American Family; anthologized in Best New American Voices 2008, Best of the Web 2008, The Late American Novel; Open Letters Monthly: An Anthology; stories and essays published in The New York Times Magazine and Book Review, Prairie Schooner, Glimmer Train, New York Magazine, Canteen,  Slate, The Pinch, The Los Angeles Times; The Millions (contributing editor); and in Germany, Mexico, Australia, and Brazil; Prairie Schooner Book Prize finalist; Believer Book Award and Pushcart Prize nominee; National Book Critics Circle Balakian Prize finalist (2011 and 2012); 2008 New York Foundation for the Arts fellow in fiction.
